Freeze Your Bananas!

As much as I love banana bread, banana muffins, banana pancakes, etc; sometimes I need something else to do with the inevitable leftover bananas. Enter in - frozen bananas!  If you'll be using your frozen bananas in smoothies, just break off chunks of banana and place in an airtight or freezer safe container for later use. 

Looking for a healthy ice cream substitute?  Blend up frozen bananas for a delicious, cool, creamy, and healthy treat.  

Make It: 

  • Freeze sliced bananas in an airtight container for at least a couple hours
  • Place in food processor and pulse to get the frozen banana broken up
  • Once the pieces are breaking up, up the speed and blend until the banana is a creamy ice cream like consistency. That's it!
  • *Optional: Try adding in peanut butter, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, or freeze dried strawberries during the blending to really up the flavor!
