This creamy, luxurious alfredo sauce is so quick and easy to whip up, you can have Italian night on even the busiest of weeknights, but fancy enough to serve up to guests (who needs to meet at olive garden? Not you!)
Some family faves to toss with this simple white alfredo sauce are: fettuccini noodles and crab meat (imitation works great), or grilled chicken with broccoli and mushrooms. But honestly your options are pretty endless once you have the base sauce down, play around with your creativity and clean out the fridge/pantry while at it!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 stick salted butter
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 1 TBPS flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 milk

- salt & pepper to taste
- **Variations to replace flour, heavy cream, milk
- 1/2 TBPS flour with 1 cup heavy cream and 1/4 block cream cheese
- 1 TBPS flour with 1 1/2 cup half and half
- GF: No flour, 1 cup half and half - 1/2 block cream cheese
Make It:
- Melt butter or margarine over low-medium heat in a small saucepan.
- Once melted, whisk in flour and let cook for 2-3 minutes (this cooks out the flour taste)
- Add crushed garlic and cook for 1 minute more
- Slowly whisk in heavy cream, constantly whisking, and then whisk in milk
- Bump up heat to medium and continue whisking until sauce has thickened slightly and is nice and warm
- Add Parmesan cheese, salt to taste right before serving
- Serve with fresh cracked pepper and extra Parmesan!
